ETCS Training Expertise for Infrabel

Transurb will provide its ETCS training expertise for Infrabel, the infrastructure manager of the Belgian rail network and its traffic. Along with LGM, Transurb will analyse and optimise the ETCS training content, methods and tools.

Context

As part of the realization of the ETCS masterplan, Infrabel develops and implements signalling systems, notably the deployment of ETCS Level 1 Full Supervision.

To make these achievements possible, a thorough knowledge of the ETCS system is necessary. Plus, every project must comply with CENELEC norms.

With the aim of enhancing knowledge transmission, improving engineers’ skills and ensuring competence traceability, Infrabel solicited assistance concerning their training materials and methods.

Transurb Mission

Transub together with LGM were selected to modernise and reform the complete ETCS training materials by delivering:

  • a coherence and qualitative analysis of the current program and recommendations about its future evolution
  • course syllabus: structure, learning objectives, estimated time, pedagogical methods and linkage between modules
  • a plan and identification of suitable content to optimally implement to an e-learning tool leading to an effective increase in employees’ skills

Transurb will provide ERTMS experts to advise and explain the ETCS content.
