Context
This is the first partnership with ALSTOM as part of an ETCS integration. Transurb and John Cockerill motivated their selection by their expertise in the field as well as by their experience acquired on other projects involving HLD77 locomotives. The objective is therefore to integrate the ETCS system into a series of 23 HLD77 vehicles belonging to INFRABEL. Alstom will supply the ETCS equipment necessary for the retrofitting of the 23 locomotives. Given that we will be subcontractors for ALSTOM, we will have to provide sustained reporting on the progress of the project but also on all of our deliverables.
Transurb’s Mission
The aim of this project is to integrate the ETCS system into a series of 23 HLD77 vehicles belonging to INFRABEL. Alstom will supply the ETCS equipment needed to retrofit the 23 locomotives. Transurb and John Cockerill will handle both the installation of the prototype and the supervision and training (coaching of SNCB agents during installation) of the first 4 production units. The SNCB will install all the vehicles in the series (except the prototype).The installation of the prototype, made by John Cockerill’s teams, and the entire series will take place at the SNCB workshop in Salzinnes. Transurb and John Cockerill obviously wish to successfully complete this mission with the aim of strengthening the links forged with ALSTOM, and to subsequently enter into a partnership on other projects.
